I have setup the blog project with two of my new groups, and although some of the blogs are already turning interesting -both in content and design, I find that most students are just basically using the "copy&paste" technique that they use in many of their other classes.
I'm not really against posting content from other places as long as the student comments or gives his opinion on it, the problem is that they do not even read what they are pasting on the blog. I had on post begin with "As mentioned before" except that it was the first ever post on the blog. A quick search on google took me to the site where it was taken from. The content of the post was just randomly seleceted, copied and pasted.
I am goign to speak to my students about this. I hope I can get the message across.
